Easyjets profits suffer as fuel prices sore
Easyjets profits are down by 45%, from evaluations made in September 30 th this year. It’s said that the budget airline made 110 million pounds in profit. In contrast although profits are down these mainly are due to soaring fuel prices. Customers have increased by 17.5% to 43.7 million due to the collapse in other budget air lines such as excel. So because of the countries economical crisis, with still such a large increase in customers, easy jet board wont be sweating just yet.
Non-executive director Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who founded the business in 1995, has increased his personal stake in the business to almost 27%. Which shows slight tensions in the Easyjet board room.
