David Cameron’s energy price reduction

David Cameron today says new plans to reduce energy prices are taking place, he proposes that every person in the UK can save up to £300 a year. His radically plan is to reinstall every home with a state of the art electric meter, which wont necessarily save you money in energy consumption but will show how much energy is being allocated for say leaving lights on over night and TV and computer equipment on stand by. Which he says information shown on these meters will encourage people to allocate there electrical needs properly, and in doing so, can save the average house hold up to  £300 a year. Other plans include more pressure on energy companies to have better tariffs for the more vulnerable and poor, such as the elderly. The Tory leader then went to say that it was unacceptable that up to 7 million people were having the choice of being cold this winter, or to get themselves into debt to keep warm.

Currently energy prices have not dropped although fuel prices have per barrel. Fuel prices have currently dropped by a third since June of this year, but yet no budge on our energy prices. David Cameron proposes to put more pressure on the top 6 energy companies to drop prices by at least £150 a year.
