Closing Post Offices causing Delays
The closure of many Post Offices across the UK is causing untold problems, today there are ques coming out of the Offices and on to the street, with so many of the employees at the branches being off work due to flu. It’s a having a massive effect with people trying to deliver the last few cards and presents, with people desperately trying to get in their before they are shut completely this year. With the massive amount of queuing many people just simply wont get there in time to deliver their gifts and cards.
With the way that the post office works now they charging different amounts of money for the size of the envelops and not just simply buying a first or second class stamp, and this shows poor running of the company as this is causing many delays and they should have more branches open to cope with the scale of people coming in to their Offices.
The former Tory cabinet minister John Redwood who had to Que himself said ‘Not only is it bad for the community when a post office cannot offer a decent service, it is a lost business opportunity. ‘Lots of promises were made that when small branches closed, the services and number of counters in main post offices would be increased. ‘That has just not been delivered. The organization is mired in bureaucracy. It has no commercial sense and no wish to serve the community properly.’
Many people will be effected by poor planning from the Post Office just like there was last year and more plans must be put into place to ensure that in this day and age people should be able to send a simple card or letter, and that if they can’t get their act together then plans could be put into place to have private delivery companies that would put a massive strain on our Post Offices.
